What happens when speaking
to a
Psychologist?
Confidentiality; everything you
disclose in treatment is strictly confidential and would only be released
(1) if subpoenaed by court, (2) if there is risk of harm to yourself or (3)
if there is risk of harm to someone else or (4) if you give express permission to release the
information. Note: where possible, your Psychologist will give warning about
this as you start to reveal such information. We can also be discrete in
contacting you when you specify this; for example we can email you your
receipt rather than mailing it.
Your best interests; As
Psychologists, we are bound by the professional bodies we are registered
with to work ethically with your best interests in mind.
How much will face-to-face Counselling cost? In most
cases you can receive a rebate from Medicare. We have a sliding scale of fee's
with bulk billing for caes such as health care card holders. Be sure to mention your
intention to claim on Medicare at the time of booking so that proper
arrangements can be negotiated. Where there is a small gap fee, cash is our prefered method of payment,
we will discuss payment options with you at the time of your booking.
How much will online Counselling cost?
We charge $2 per minute, where the first email will not exceed a 30 minute
reply (i.e. please do not write more than 20 minutes worth of reading in
your first email). Your first reply will include payment details and your
second email will be replied to once monies have been received. All payments
should be completed by bank transfer (paypal is available on request), and if you are unsure about
transferring monies over the internet then please discuss the payment with
your bank. You may also consider that you can check the registration status
of our staff on the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency website (find
the link here).
How long will it take? All face-to-face
appointments are 55 minutes. Your treatment can vary in length from 1 to a dozen or more appointments,
depending on your situation and on how much personal growth you want to work through.
You may fin your first appointment intense as there is a lot to do to “get to know you” and to clarify your prefered treatment plan and a timeline for
these goals with your Psychologist.
